Between last night’s Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards and the Critics Choice Awards tonight, the 2026 awards season has officially begun. And this year, the competition has proven particularly fierce.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, and Joachim Triem’s Sentimental Value were among the most nominated films of the evening, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Stone, Jacob Elordi, Paul Mescal, Ariana Grande, and Elle Fanning all earning coveted spots in their respective categories. But it was Jessie Buckley and Timothée Chalamet who ended up receiving the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor, for their respective work on Marty Supreme and Hamnet.

Accepting her award, Buckley stepped on stage wearing a silk set from Dior’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection. The elegant yet fresh look, composed of black trousers and an ivory halter top draped around the torso and tied at either hip, was paired with Art Deco earrings for a bit of sculptural structure.

Elsewhere in the room, Chalamet celebrated his win with Kylie Jenner, who wore a vintage Versace dress.
When it came to Best Director and Best Picture, Anderson and his film One Batter After Another came out on top. Additional winners in the film categories included Elordi (Best Supporting Actor, Frankenstein) and Amy Madigan (Best Supporting Actress, Weapons).
For shows, Severance and Nobody Wants This were well represented, but it was Adolescence that proved the big winner—snagging four titles including Best Limited Series. Elsewhere, The Pitt won Best Drama Series and The Studio won Best Comedy Series.
