- HBO Max released the first trailer for *The Pitt* season 3.
- The Emmy-winning smash hit returns in January.
- The new footage focuses on Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) coming back from his sabbatical.
Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) is officially clocking back in.
HBO Max released the first look at season 3 of *The Pitt* Friday, and Robby has returned from his sabbatical, but the ED is still as chaotic as ever.
“I knew my first day back was going to be hard, dealing with what we go through here,” he says in the trailer. “And I knew that it could get a little bit crazy.”
Robby reunites with a few of the key people in his life, with him and Dana (Katherine LaNasa) engaging in some fun banter. But things aren’t as light when the footage ends with Langdon (Patrick Ball), who looks like he’s been put through the wringer, welcoming his former mentor back.
And those hoping for a night shift spinoff will be delighted by the trailer opening with Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) and his “nightcrawlers.”
While season 3 premieres in January, the action will be taking place on Nov. 12, 2026, and creator R. Scott Gemmill previously teased what to expect.
“Part of our whole process is to look at what’s going on in emergency medicine, what are social policies, what’s changing, what’s happening? What are the good things,” he told ** at the end of season 2. “It’s really important that we be truthful and honest and really show people what is going on. There’s a lot of changes to Medicare and Medicaid, and those are going to have real repercussions on the emergency department and everyone who works there and uses it. We’re going to explore that this year.”

One person not returning is Supriya Ganesh, whose Dr. Samira Mohan became a fan favorite and who exited following the season 2 finale.
“I’m so grateful for the support and I feel like there were so many people who really loved her and really, really loved what she represented and the role she had to play,” Ganesh told EW. “But, you know, all good things come to an end. I think that is the thing that saddens me the most. I’m gonna be losing this community of people who really loved her and saw a part of themselves in her.”
