Princess Kate's forest green outfit is stealing the show in Windsor.
As King Charles III, Queen Camilla and husband Prince William welcomed the Sultan of Oman to Britain for a traditional state visit on Tuesday, Oct. 20, much of the focus was on the future queen's look, particularly her striking headpiece.
Kate, wearing a long green Alexander McQueen coat, looked picture perfect despite the heavy rain. Her hat featured an elegant bow detail.
British media reported that both Kate and Camilla's clothing choices were a nod to the Omani flag, which is made up of green, red and white. The queen stepped out in a red wool crepe dress, compete with ruby brooch.
The British government requested the Omani ruler's three-day official visit, which featured a ceremonial procession through the town towards Windsor Castle and will also see royals gather for a lavish state banquet. The historic visit marks the first state visit by a sultan of Oman to the U.K. in more than four decades.
As the queen looked on, Kate demonstrated her perfect royal etiquette on Tuesday, curtsying deeply as she shook Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said’s hand.

Given that they will one day be king and queen, William and Kate are increasingly being positioned prominently at such events. Their three children, Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11 and Prince Louis, 8, are at school and so did not attend the ceremony, though they featured heavily at royal events over the summer, including Trooping the Colour in June.
Why Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan not seen at historic state visit
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were not in attendance on Tuesday, as they do not take part in official engagements. The pair stepped back from their duties in 2020 and are no longer working royals.

Following their return to Harry's home country, the king issued a letter clarifying their royal status. The document, which reportedly shocked the Sussexes, stated that despite their relocation, they will remain as non-working royals and will not be carrying out any official royal engagements on behalf of the sovereign.
The letter dictated that the couple would still not be able to use the "HRH" titles of His and Her Royal Highness, and said the pair should be considered "private citizens with commercial and charitable interests."
Last week, the couple, who moved back to Britain in August after six years in California, stepped out in the city of Nottingham for their first joint public appearance. Despite an ongoing rift within the royal family and six years away, they received a warm welcome from crowds who gave Meghan flowers and asked for hugs.
