Prince William makes time to bring his wife, Kate Middleton, her favorite drink each night.

William makes her a gin and tonic after the children go to bed, according to a royal expert.

The couple shares three kids: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have had a year filled with major moments, including sending their oldest child, Prince George, off to Eton College, Kate completing the Three Peaks Challenge, and spending time together at movie premieres and sporting events in between. While their schedules may be packed, they still manage to make time for private moments together.

Case in point, a nightly ritual the couple partakes in as William brings Kate a treat after the children, George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, go to bed.

William reportedly fixes his wife her favorite beverage every night in the quiet hours without the children. “William will bring Kate a gin and tonic,” a royal insider told the Daily Record in 2024. “They look after each other, but in different ways.”

Kate’s love of gin is similar to the late Queen Elizabeth, who famously enjoyed a Dubonnet and gin cocktail—a drink the Queen Mother also enjoyed.

In September 2024, Kate finished her chemotherapy treatments after being diagnosed with cancer earlier that year. On January 14, 2025, the Princess of Wales announced she was officially cancer-free.

During that difficult time, William stepped up as a devoted husband and father—including bringing his wife her drink. A source told OK! that his efforts to take on more responsibility and help with the kids had not gone unnoticed by Kate.

“He’s shouldered a lot of the responsibilities, and, what’s more, he seems to be having fun doing it,” the insider said. “Kate has seen the change, and she’s genuinely touched by all that he’s doing, not just for her, but for the children.”

In turn, the Prince and Princess of Wales have become “closer than ever,” according to Us Weekly.

In a sweet family video, Kate told the public that she had finished cancer treatment with a few PDA-filled moments between the royal couple. In the voiceover, the princess expressed her gratitude for everyone who had supported her throughout the process.

“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved,” she said. “William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.”
