Patricia Arquette, 58, says she’s in one of the 'happiest,' most fulfilling periods of her life
She reflected on years spent prioritizing others as a mother, partner and wife — and said she’s now learning to focus on what she wants

Patricia Arquette says life in her 50s is better than ever.
The Oscar winner, 58, caught up exclusively with PEOPLE at the Planned Parenthood Spring Into Action Gala in New York City on April 15. During the conversation, the actress reflected on her past year, sharing that it’s been one of the best of her life.
“Oh, I've had so many fun adventures,” Arquette told PEOPLE. “And also, I mean, I've just been having this incredible relationship with myself, which I never really had.”

“You know, I was a mom at 20, so I went from being someone's daughter to someone's mother, to being someone's girlfriend, being someone's wife — all of these different things,” she explained, adding, “I still have a hard time asking myself, ‘What do I want to do?’ ”
“It's really retraining my own mind, so I'm kind of in the happiest, most emotionally stress-free part of my life right now, and I'm loving that,” Arquette added.
While speaking to PEOPLE in November 2025, the Severance star, who is mom to son Enzo, 37, whom she shares with ex Paul Rossi, and daughter Harlow, 23, whom she shares with her ex-husband Thomas Jane, said she felt as though she had entered a new chapter.

"I'm at a really exciting moment in my life," she told PEOPLE at the time. "My kids are grown up, I'm single, I don't have to take anybody else's dreams into account as far as: Where do I want to live? What do I want my house to look like? Can I go on this vacation with my girlfriend or not?"

Arquette and her ex-husband Jane were married for four years and divorced in 2010. Prior to that, the star was married to Nicolas Cage from 1995 to 2001.
"It's funny because somebody had told me that the Chinese call menopause the second spring, and it kind of is a second spring," Arquette continued while speaking to PEOPLE in 2025.

"The whole world's different all of a sudden, and I can have all these adventures and spend time with people I really miss that I want to spend time with,” she added.
