After Genie, Make a Wish, Bae Suzy is ready to return to Netflix with a new K-drama, Men of the Harem. Based on the webnovel of the same name by Alphatart, who is also known for another popular adaptation, The Remarried Empress, which will premiere later this year on Disney+.
While not much is revealed about Men of the Harem, there has been a lot of talk due to the recent departure of one of the lead actors, Lee Soo-hyuk.
More on this in our story.
Men of the Harem: Everything to know about Bae Suzy's upcoming K-drama amid Lee Soo-hyuk's exit
Bae Suzy's Men of the Harem reportedly began filming in May 2026. However, the production recently faced a setback when Lee Soo-hyuk, who is one of the male leads, stepped away mid-production.
As per The Korea Times, the S Line and Doom at Your Service star's agency reported that the decision was made due to his "scheduling conflicts". Not much information has been provided apart from that.
The reports also suggest that Lee Jong-won of Hospital Playlist 2 and Knight Flower fame is in talks to step into Lee Soo-hyuk's role, although nothing is confirmed yet.
Men of the Harem tells the story of a princess named Latil (Bae Suzy). After being rejected by her lover and the shocking murder of her father, Latil has to take up the reins in her own hands, and for that she needs a man by her side. But instead of choosing one man, Latil chooses five.

As per Netflix, the synopsis of the K-drama reads:
"Scorned by her lover and thrown into power after the mysterious assassination of her father, Latil must marry to secure her sovereignty of Tarium. Instead of choosing one man to become her Royal Consort, she chooses five young men from all walks of life to join her Harem. Will Latil ever solve her father’s murder, and can she keep the peace in her Harem?”
Bae Suzy is set to play Princess Latil of Tarium. The Korean actress is one of the most popular faces of the industry, who has also appeared in fan-favorite K-dramas such as Dream High, Vagabond, Doona!, among many others.
She will be joined by Shin Seung-ho, star of Alchemy of Souls and D.P. Along with these, Seung-ho has also appeared in another globally hit Netflix K-drama, Weak Hero. Men of the Harem cast also includes Bitch X Rich star Yoo Jung-hoo and The Winning Try and Resident Playbook fame Kim Dan.
The supporting cast of the upcoming K-drama includes:
Noh Min-woo
Lee Gyu-hyun
Ji Chang-wook
Apart from the stellar cast, Men of the Harem has bigger names behind the camera, as it will be directed by Lee Eung-bok, who is known for his work on Dream High, Bae Suzy's debut K-drama, and also directed the superhit K-drama Mr. Sunshine, and was a co-director of Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.
Another big name behind the adaptation's creation is Hwang Jin-young, the screenwriter of Men of the Harem, who is also known for critically acclaimed K-dramas such as My Dearest.
