Kristen Stewart stepped out in a polarizing outfit at the Biarritz Film Festival on June 23.
The 36-year-old actress opted to wear shorts under her dress.
She cinched her waist with a black-and-gold belt and paired the look with black loafers.
Kristen Stewart loves to be a little subversive with her fashion choices. Case in point: for an appearance at the Biarritz Film Festival in France on June 23, the 36-year-old actress opted to wear shorts under her off-the-shoulder knit dress.

The Chanel ambassador wore the brand on Tuesday, and the look featured an oversized black dress with cream and red detailing.
She cinched her waist with a black-and-gold Chanel belt and paired the look with matching black shorts that featured the same colorful trim at the hemline. She topped off the polarizing outfit with a pair of black Chanel loafers and sunglasses.
Stewart is at the festival because she is serving as president of the jury. Biarritz Film Festival announced the news in a statement in March. "For its 4th edition, the Biarritz Film Festival - Nouvelles Vagues is honored to entrust the presidency of its Jury to actress and filmmaker Kristen Stewart," it read.

The statement continued, "Leading a jury composed of international personalities and artists, she will discover the films of the International Feature Film Competition, whose central theme—stories of youth—lies more than ever at the heart of the Festival."

In a previous interview with InStyle, TheChronology of Water filmmaker discussed her favorite Chanel items with her Happiest Season director, Clea DuVall.
"You are a face of Chanel, so I presume you have a lot of Chanel pieces in your closet," DuVall said.

"I do, indeed," Stewart responded. "I have all my Chanel shit together. Sometimes I just walk by it. My little black jacket is sitting there. I have a couple of bags that are really classic."
She also speculated about what her future children would say about her closet.
"But then I have so many things that a more daring, cooler person would wear," she said. "Maybe if I have kids, they'll be like, 'Why aren't you wearing this incredible thing?' Maybe someone will step in and utilize my wardrobe."
