Jon Stewart's future as host of The Daily Show has been revealed.
On Monday, October 19, Skydance Television announced that the 63-year-old comedian will continue to host the Comedy Central show every Monday and serve as executive producer for the series through December 2028. The Daily Show's award-winning news team, including Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Troy Iwata, and Grace Kuhlenschmidt, will continue to share hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday.
Stewart will also remain an executive producer with showrunner and executive producer Jen Flanz and Stewart's long-time manager, James "Baby Doll" Dixon. This comes after Stewart was praised for "skinning President Donald Trump alive" with a humiliating montage.

In an email confirming Stewart's future with The Daily Show, Skydance Television wrote, "On the heels of two EMMY wins this year, The Daily Show recently hit an eight-year Q3 viewership high among Persons 2+ since Q3 2018, and its social channels surpassed last year's viewership benchmarks with 1.9 billion views, ranking #1 as the most-viewed cable program across social media in 2026."

"Jon Stewart is a generational talent and The Daily Show continues to be one of the most influential franchises on television and a cornerstone of Comedy Central. We are excited to continue our partnership with Jon and his award-winning news team," said George Cheeks, Co-Chair and Chief Content Officer, Skydance TV.
The development comes days after Stewart was praised for brutally ripping into Trump with a hilarious video montage. On the October 6 episode of The Daily Show, Stewart called out Trump for his previous comments about tech leaders.
Before becoming president, the 80-year-old had a highly contentious and adversarial relationship with tech bosses, targeting them as part of his 2016 campaign. At that time, Trump repeatedly attacked Bezos, accusing him of using his ownership of The Washington Post as a tax-dodging scam and a political tool to influence legislation.
However, now, the president seems to be pals with Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, even appearing at the White House for the China state dinner. In early 2016, Trump called for a public boycott of Apple products.
Moreover, Trump also heavily criticized Apple for manufacturing its products in China rather than in the United States. Yet, he still invited CEO Tim Cook alongside Amazon's Bezos to a recent tech summit.

Stewart took no time in calling out the president's hypocrisy during a recent Daily Show episode. "As many of you know here, there has been great concern lately over AI and what data centers will do to local communities.
"So, President Trump called all of the biggest AI leaders to the White House to finally address the concerns of the American people."
"And you know that Trump is going to bring the heat," he continued, stopping mid-sentence as he tried not to laugh, and the audience chuckled. Stewart composed himself and said, "Don't be cynical," before adding, "Trump has been very clear about what he thinks about these Silicon Valley elites."
The Daily Show then played a video montage of Trump slamming tech giants, with the president saying in one clip, "These Silicon Valley tyrants." In the second clip, Trump added, "The big tech giants, you see how crooked they are." Meanwhile, he later fumed, "Big tech is totally dishonest...they're destroying this country."
"Google is really taking advantage of a lot of people," the president also claimed, before the final video concluded, "I consider Facebook to be an enemy of the people."

Following the episode, Daily Show viewers praised Stewart and the comedy series for the joke, as one person wrote, "Thank you for helping us get this with humor."
Another then added, "High IQ does not mean high ethical or high moral standards, choices or behavior," as a third chimed in to say, "Skinned alive," and a final viewer concluded, "It's all about the money."
During the July 20 episode of The Daily Show, Stewart unpacked all of the unforgettable moments of the 2026 World Cup final, which saw Spain beat reigning champions Argentina in a shocking twist. In his coverage, Stewart didn't omit Trump's more embarrassing blunders.
After slamming the president for photobombing Spain's victory photo, Stewart went on to comment on Trump's "really insightful post-game analysis." After playing a clip of the president, in which he claimed this year's World Cup was the most successful ever, Stewart rewound the footage, claiming he spotted a "backup" Trump lingering in the background.
Stewart said, "Can we go back a second, though, I don't mean to - what's up with the guy behind Trump? Can we see that again, can you bring that out? What the f - who the f--- is this guy? Who the f--- is this? Is this - what - who in the world is it?"
Pointing to a man on the tarmac behind Trump, the host continued, "Oh my god, is that a back-up Trump?! Is that? Wait a minute! Wait, hold on a second! Wait, what?! Wait, who?! What?! Is that a backup Trump or is that Trump?! Wait! Is the one we've been dealing with backup Trump? Or is that Trump?"
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11PM ET/PT on Comedy Central and next day on Paramount+.
