Jerry O'Connell weighs in on “that ”conversation with wife Rebecca Romijn's ex-husband John Stamos

Jerry O'Connell has finally revealed what he and John Stamos spoke about after connecting at Howie Mandel's birthday party in November.

Stamos is the ex-husband of O'Connell's wife, Rebecca Romijn, who was mentioned throughout Stamos' 2023 memoir.

O'Connell and Stamos chatted for 20 minutes and even took a selfie together.

After a story involving him and his wife Rebecca Romijn's ex-husband John Stamos chatting at Howie Mandel's birthday party in November, the Stand by Mestar wanted to clarify what happened.

The interest in Stamos and O'Connell's meet-up stems from the selfie O'Connell shared at the time, where he alluded that they had ended a feud. To his credit, Mandel commented, "This is what I do. I bring people together. You’re welcome 👏."

"John Stamos was at this party and I was like, 'I got to make a beeline for [him]...I got to go extend my hand,'" O'Connell told Andy Cohen on Radio Andy. "I said, 'Hey man, how are you? It's so good to see you.'" He went in for a hug, and was "trying to figure out what I can say without upsetting John and starting a beef here."

Cohen asked if they had a friendly conversation, and O'Connell confirmed, "100 million percent" and that there indeed was a hug. "Was anything discussed? Like, was anything controversial discussed? Like, did you actually go there?" Cohen added, pressing for more information.

Though he didn't get into the specifics of their conversation, O'Connell mentioned that the two actors chatted for about 20 minutes.

"I made some self-deprecating jokes. I made sure his new wife was there. You want everyone to feel included. I whispered to him when I hugged him like, 'She says you're bigger than me. Do you want her back?'" O'Connell quipped. "I whispered, 'She says Greeks are better lovers.'"

Stamos and Romijn were married from 1998 until 2005. After they divorced, she and O'Connell married in 2007. They share twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie. Meanwhile, Stamos wed Caitlin McHugh in 2018 and share a son, Billy.

The Full Houseactor previously spoke about his divorce from Romijn on Bobbi Althoff's Really Good Podcast, which he also mentioned in his 2023 memoir IfYou Would Have Told Me. "I didn't want to get divorced. She wanted to. It took me a long time to get over it,' he said.

Romijn was "incredibly shocked" by her ex-husband's memoir, while O'Connell mentioned it made things "awkward" for their family. "I was very surprised by all of that, incredibly shocked actually," Romijn said in January 2024. "But you know, I don't really want to help him sell his books based on those headlines. So that's all I really want to say about it."

O'Connell was a bit more forthcoming about the memoir's contents. "It's pretty crazy when your kids come out for breakfast and go, 'Hey, Mom, your ex has a book out and called you the devil. What are your thoughts?'" he said in November 2023.

Meanwhile, Stamos mentioned the November 2025 interaction with O'Connell while chatting with Althoff. "She has a nice life. She married another guy. She has kids. They're doing great," Stamos said.

"I met him recently. It was very interesting. He was very sweet. He was very nice... We were at a party together, and he came over, and he was super nice," Stamos shared. "He couldn't have been sweeter. He was very, very funny and very charming."
