Jeremy Renner is taking one last ride as The Mayor.

Mayor of Kingstown is set to return to Paramount+ early next year with the eight-episode final season premiering on Jan. 15. This time around, Renner’s Mike McLusky is dealing with the aftermath of his brother Kyle McLusky’s (Taylor Handley) vengeance on gang leader Merle Callahan (Richard Brake).

Season 5 sees David Morse joining the cast as FBI agent Russell Hardy, who is on the hunt for Callahan. Little does he know, Kyle murdered the “fugitive” as revenge for his wife Tracy’s death. Morse, in his usual fashion, will be taking on the role of this season’s big bad — attempting to uncover all of Mike’s secrets as the future of Kingstown hangs in the balance.

Edie Falco is set to reprise her role as Nina Hobbs along with Laura Benanti (Cindy Stephens), Hugh Dillon (Ian Ferguson), Tobi Bamtefa (Bunny Washington), Derek Webster (Stevie), Necar Zadegan (Evelyn Foley), Nichole Galicia (Rebecca), and Lennie James (Frank Moses).

Paramount+ also debuted first look images on Tuesday, featuring a look at the show’s returning characters along with Morse as Agent Hardy. It also appears the surprise romance between Renner’s Mike and Benanti’s Cindy will continue throughout the final episodes.

The news of Mayor of Kingstown’s fifth season comes just after the first four seasons of Taylor Sheridan’s show hit Netflix on Oct. 5.
