Creators Konrad Kay and Mickey Down teased that season 4 will shift the series into “proper thriller mode”
Fans are preparing to reenter the cutthroat world of Industry.
The popular finance drama returns to HBO and HBO Max on Jan. 11 for its fourth season, and according to the series’ creators, the stakes are higher than ever.
"The show works really well when there’s a ticking clock and an urgency to the storytelling," Mickey Down, who co-created the series with Konrad Kay, told AV Club in January 2026. "All that made it quite easy to supplant Industry into a proper thriller mode for season four."
Industry follows a group of young bankers and traders — played by Myha’la and Marisa Abela, among others — navigating the escalating pressure inside the world of international finance after the 2008 collapse. That tension has all “the makings of a good thriller,” Down said, which is exactly what fans can expect to see in season 4.
Season 3 saw the departure of Harry Lawtey’s Robert Spearing, and new players promise to shake up the series. Variety reported in March 2025 that Kiernan Shipka, Kal Penn, Claire Forlani and Charlie Heaton have all joined the cast.
Here's everything to know about the release schedule for Industry's fourth season, including when new episodes come out.

Myha'la Herrold in 'Industry.'
The first episode of Industry's fourth season premieres on Jan. 11 on HBO, and will also be available to stream that day on HBO Max.
According to the official logline, season 4 will meet the cast "at the top of their game and living the lives they set out to have as Pierpoint grads." But that doesn't mean the drama is over. Harper (Myha’la) and Yasmin (Abela) get pulled into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse with a "splashy fintech darling" who has them working across the globe.
While Yasmin and CEO Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington) are navigating their relationship, Harper becomes entangled with executive Whitney Halberstram (Max Minghella). Meanwhile, the pair's newfound friendship is under threat of igniting "under the pressure of money, power, and the desire to be on top."
Harper and Yasmin's relationship will continue to be "the beating heart of the show," Down told AV Club. He explained, "It’s a transactional relationship, but is it calculating or does it actually come from a place of love? That’s continually what we’re asking of them: Do they love each other?"
How many episodes are in Industry season 4?

Charlie Heaton in 'Industry.'
Like previous seasons, Industry season 4 consists of eight episodes. While the episode count has remained consistent, Kay has noted that the show’s installments have grown longer over time as the series found its footing.
"We didn’t quite know what the show was and we didn’t really know whether we had the material to sustain ourselves," he told AV Club. "You’ll notice that over the seasons, our episode lengths went from 45 or 47 minutes to the full hour or more. In that cutting style, we found a certain velocity that worked for the show."
