The Home Alone star plays Lacerta Legate, a member of Caesar's Legion
Star Walton Goggins and showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet talk to PEOPLE about the actor joining the Prime Video series
After Prime Video teased that Macaulay Culkin was joining the cast of Fallout season 2, the actor has finally made his debut on the apocalyptic series as a member of Caesar's Legion in episode three, which aired on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
His role as Lacerta Legate was officially unveiled on the show after Lucy (Ella Purnell) was captured by members of the Legion and taken to their camp. There, she unsuccessfully pleaded with him and others to set her free and even offered to help barter a truce between their group and another faction of the Legion.
Eventually, the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) came to Lucy's rescue, saving her from being left to die after she was mounted on a cross in the middle of the camp. After the two set off, the Ghoul leaves the camp in chaos after blowing up the divide between the two Legion groups.

Culkin's first episode on Fallout was just a taste of what's to come as season 2 continues lay the groundwork for a civil war between the Legion, the New California Republic and the Brotherhood of Steel, all of which are at odds for various reasons as they continue to survive in the resource-strapped wasteland.
Culkin's appearance on Fallout also comes after the 45-year-old star has made a few notable appearances on TV, with roles as Mickey in American Horror Story season 10 and playing Goggins' on-screen son, Harmon, in season 2 of The Righteous Gemstones.

Although Goggins, 54, worked with Culkin on the HBO comedy, he initially had no idea that his former costar had been cast on season 2.
"I have influence over very little," the actor jokes with PEOPLE in response to whether he was responsible for Culkin being added to the cast. "I didn't know about him because they don't tell me a lot of things. Justin [Theroux] I knew about, obviously, and Jon [Gries] and a few other people, but Macaulay I didn't know about."
"When they told me, I just lit up because I think the world of him," Goggins continues. "We had such a great time on Righteous Gemstones and we became friends after that." He adds, "The way he fits into this world is so specific and he is so uniquely suited for it. I'm just grateful that he said yes and that he was onboard."

Goggins teases that Culkin's role "goes to places that you won't even expect."
Adding to that, showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet tells PEOPLE, "We were so honored to have him. We met with him before he started and he's such a thoughtful person and I love what he brought to the role. He had this very particular read on the kind of character that he wanted to play within the Legion and I think he really brought that to the screen."
"I love that because that's something that, when you meet Caesar in the game, he actually is quite a thoughtful guy even though he does such amoral things and runs a brutal society," the executive producer continues. "I think that tension is so interesting."
Admittedly, Robertson-Dworet is a longtime fan of the former child star. "Of course, I was someone who grew up going to the theater many times to see Home Alone as a kid. That innocent boy now running a slave society just felt really fun to us. It was very delicious."
New episodes of Fallout season 2 debut Wednesdays on Prime Video until the finale on Feb. 4, 2026.
