Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma

The Final Girl trope is deconstructed in director Jane Schoenbrun’s latest film (in theaters), which stars Gillian Anderson as Billy, the eccentric former star of a slasher franchise now living at the property where the movies were filmed. Like *I Saw the TV Glow*, we see the fictional media through the eyes of a superfan, filmmaker Kris (Hannah Einbinder), who visits Billy after getting tapped to make a reboot. As the two bond over a love of horror (and chicken wings), Kris comes to terms with her nostalgic interest in the *Camp Miasma* movies, and her own hidden desires. —*Tiffany Kelly, Staff Editor*
