The brother of José Luis and José Armando Cevallos — the content creators known under the Instagram handle “siamesesdelecuador” — is speaking out after their death.
The influencer pair, who were conjoined twins, died at age 27 on Oct. 15, their social media team announced on Instagram.
“Their story, their smiles, and their outlook on life left an indelible mark on many hearts,” read the post, translated from Spanish. “We are comforted knowing that they were happy fulfilling their dreams and achieving goals that filled them with hope.”
Following their death — which a close friend told local media was due to a heart attack — their brother, Damián, recalled his final conversation with his siblings.

He told Y Ahora Sonsoles that the last time he spoke with the twins was either Oct. 13 or 14, just a day or two before their death, when they asked if he could purchase medication for them.
When asked how his parents were doing following their sons’ death, he said in Spanish they were “devastated.”

Following the news of their death, a close friend of the twins, Fernando Carrillo, shared on the Spanish news program Y Ahora Sonsoles that they were hospitalized after José Luis experienced cardiac arrest. Though doctors stabilized him, José Armando had a heart attack a few minutes later, and the pair both died, Carrillo told the outlet.
“We sincerely thank everyone who supported them, believed in them, and was part of every achievement,” read the post announcing their deaths. “Thank you for accompanying them in making their dreams a reality and for giving them so much love along the way.”
Concluded the post: “Their legacy will live on in a phrase that always represented them: ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and disability is no impediment to being happy.”
