Ariana Grande is changed for good after her *Eternal Sunshine *tour.

“Doing this tour has felt like such a beautiful corrective experience for me because I think on my last tour I wasn’t necessarily in the same place in life,” Grande said earlier this week on Jessica Vosk’s YouTube series* Vosk in the City. *“I wasn’t able to be as present as I am this time.”

The singer added, “To be able to, literally, like actually see and connect and feel. To connect with them in this way just to sing these songs that have been a part of our relationship for ... 13 years at this point.”

Grande made it clear that she was being literal when it came to seeing them because she “wasn’t wearing contact lenses” during her last tour.

“[To] see them and know them and see them dressed as strange niche jokes and stuff,” she continued. “It’s just a very long term relationship.”

Grande kicked off her *Eternal Sunshine *tour in June and is set to take the stage through early September. This is her first tour since 2019 when Grande embarked on the *Sweetener World Tour* for most of that year.

Monday’s YouTube video came shortly after Grande announced that she would be taking a step back from the public eye after her *Eternal Sunshine *tour wraps in London.

“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny,” a rep for Grande told **’s sister site PEOPLE in a statement on Aug. 2. “This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”

The outlet also confirmed that Grande would no longer be appearing in a previously announced West End production of *Sunday in the Park With George* alongside Jonathan Bailey. The show is set to open at London’s Barbican Centre next summer.

Grande explained her decision to take a break while speaking to the crowd at her *Eternal Sunshine *show in Chicago earlier this month. The singer made it clear that she was not making a “reactive or impulsive” choice due to public scrutiny.

“It is something that I had decided to plan that I had quietly made a long time ago and it’s a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place,” Grande explained. “I want you to know many things can be true at the same time. I heard that my fans were worried that negativity was ruining things for me, but I just have to say that could not be more the f--- opposite.”

Grande made it “very, very clear” that she was setting “boundaries” as speculation about her appearance continues to rise on social media.

“Human beings can need a break sometimes. And also, this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life,” she continued. “No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will ever be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or elaborate to me than this love that we share.”

Grande’s message concluded, “The rest of that s--- is not mine to carry, so I don’t carry it. I need to get out here and differentiate that from my truth for you all because I love you and this tour has been the most healing, beautiful, corrective, magnificent, special experience of my life.”
